Lots of Hearst Castle pics, but very few good ones. I'll post photos one at a time from now on...kinda spread them out a little. :P

The problem wasn't so much that they weren't good, but because I took a lot of random shots of artistic elements of the house that I thought were striking. And because my tour group was moving at a fairly decent clip, I didn't really get the time to think and frame my shots as we toured a bit of the house.

Anyway, you'll see a few that weren't too bad, but would definitely benefit from cropping and/or photoshopping.

Quicksilver Ranch, where they raised miniature horses. Pretty, except fences were kind of annoying as far as framing photographs went.

Am going to try to revive this thing by posting photographs. I took almost a hundred and fifty during spring break, and I'll be posting them a few shots at a time. Also testing out flickr, which seems pretty slick. Think gmail compared to hotmail in terms of slick vs. clunky.

Things I Like About the Boy, No. 5

First person to wish me happy birthday: Boy (yes, Scott, he beat you by three minutes)
Person who wished me happy birthday the most: Boy (record: 3 times)
Number of different modes of communication used by Boy to wish happy birthday: 2
Person most amused by Boy: my mother

And no, I haven't tried any alcohol yet. I kinda wanted to shoot the handgun into the air to celebrate, but I had the sneaking suspicion that it would be illegal. Especially at 12 o' clock at night, in PV.

In The Land of Twilight

Funny how things turn out.

It may just be my mood, but the blogging world is becoming less and less appealing to me. I don't have the time or inclination or discipline that I should be putting into this, and I am more and more loathe to update other people on what exactly I am up to, not because of a desire for secrecy but because I'd like to spend that time doing other things. I get a semester off from school and what do I realize? There's not enough time. There's never enough time.

I'll post here haphazardly, but don't expect too much. Bloggychameleon is fading away slowly, and work and law school will probably be the final blow to this lil hobby.

It's been nice knowing you.

i'm never gonna know you now
but i'm gonna love you anyhow

I climbed six levels of Naughty Sorceress's Tower, and this is what I get:
The details of the final confrontation with the Sorceress are still being hammered out.

It won't be too long...

At the DC

*me gives Adora a backrub while she's sitting in a chair*
Adora: I should trade you in for Hiro. He does nothing.
Steph: [to me] Ey, what're you doing tonight?
Me: Well, I can assure you that I am hotter than Hiro.
Steph: AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Color Belt Team Trials video

3.02.2005

And today was a good day for linkies

Let's get all the videos out of the way first--

From Japan comes a cute tea commercial. Then there's a spoof on Apple's famous 1984 Super Bowl commercial which actually illustrates my sentiments quite nicely. A mash of Superfriends and Office Space gives us This Place Sucks, and then there's the Consumers Union's little cartoon The Drugs I Need.

Sort of along the same lines is this Beatles remix site. Think The Grey Album type stuff.

Then it gets more random. If you're looking for pretty pictures, go to Tales of Future Past. Zug has something funny with Turnpike Pranks, and geek news is the development of an invisibility shield a la the Romulans. I also checked out PostSecret today.

Finally, read this awesome cyberpunk short story called Strike a Pose. It's about as punky as cyberpunk gets, blending fantasy-tech and a dystopian setting with a bit of fairy tale magic, voodoo, drag queens, and vogueing. It is a bit (ok, very) violent and crude, at times, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Particularly because Cinderella wasn't so much a helpless victim, and didn't need a Prince. Just a modeling contract. [I think the gender references might be a bit off on this, though. Khalil, can you correct/verify?]
