How One Can Study Too Much for LSATs
other than by the fact that I've been posting here several times a day.
4. All Human beings are either optimists or pessimists. Joey is not a pessimist. Therefore, Joey is an optimist.[lizardbrain: Is Joey a kangaroo?]
Which one of the following is assumed by the argument above?
A) Joey is a human being. [correct]

Raymond, when asked if he was really allowed to eat in the martial arts room:
"Well, none of the higher ranks have said anything...."It took me a couple seconds to realize that wait, he was the higher rank. He's a second degree black belt, the ass. And he had a two course meal right in front of the yellow belt class.

No Joke: Daily Show Viewers Follow Presidential Race
The O'Stewart Factor
I remember watching The Daily Show with my dad once in a while, and laughing till we cried. That was when I still had the time to follow politics. *cry* After LSATs, that's when I'll start studying the campaign.
Jon Stewart is hot, though.
In other news....The LotR:RotK SEE DVD (hehehe...try to decipher!) has been announced. And Mount St. Helens might be erupting soon.

Eggs!
For work in the bio lab this weekend, I have to sort out chicken eggs and put them in the incubator. Of course, only one thing comes to mind when faced with all of these eggs....EGG STORY!
:-D
Sadly, I think we're going to break all of them open in order to study the embryos inside. :(
sleepy hangout v3: matchmaker
It's 12:15AM and I can't sleep. GO FIGURE. Especially after a long day of tromping around San Diego (and spending $22. Shhhhh.)
Hair color: Hmm. Usually dark, but there are some cute light-haired guys out there.
Eye color: No preference.
Height: Preferably between 5'8" and 6'. (I agree)
Six pack: Some toning would be nice, but not necessary (I wonder how much I'm going to change Vicky's answers.)
Long or short hair: If it's past your chin, unless you look like Vash, no.
Glasses: Hm.. no.
Piercings: Probably not.
Tattoo: maybe. Not overwhelming, though.
Eyebrows: No unibrow?
Big butt or little: Not fat?
Buff or skinny: hm. I like in-between guys. Like not wimpy-skinny, but not OMG ALL I DO IS WORKOUT CAUZ ARNOLD IS MY IDOL. I have a friend like that. Honest. I call him a freak.
Straight teeth, gap, or braces: no gap?
Funny or serious: depends on the situation.. he should be able to be both.
Party or stay at home: both.. sometimes I want to go out and sometimes I just wanna chill at home.
Should she/he cook or bake: cook. I can handle the oven, it's that damn stove that freaks me out with all the flying oil *shudder*
Should she/he have a best friend: yes.. so I'm not the only person in his life.
Should she/he have a lotta girl friends: hm.. I could get kinda jealous. But if I'm #1 and there's no chance of him cheating on me, then *shrug* go ahead. I have a lot of guy friends.
Outgoing or shy: more outgoing than shy, but not obnoxious.
Sarcastic or sincere: I'm too damn gullible. Hopefully more sincere than sarcastic. But i can be too sarcastic.
Would she/he be a smoker?: NO.
Would she/he drink?: Not regularly
Would she/he swear?: On occasion.. but not constantly. Not like me. :P
Would she/he play with your hair?: dunno, maybe?
Where would you go to dinner?: His house, where he's just cooked and laid out the table on the patio with a tablecloth and candles. Hee. I'm a romantic. (Awwww... that is cute. I like candles. Candles are romantic.)
Would s/he write you notes?: sure
Would he bring you flowers?: maybe. but I don't like a lot of dead flowers everywhere. That bothers me.
Would she/he lay under the stars with you?: yes. :) Even if it be at 4am to see the meteor shower, damnit.
Would s/he call you muffin, pumpkin, or apple?: no
Would he call you hunny, sweetie, or baby?: I think hunny/honey is about it.
Would she/he hang out with you and YOUR friends?: yes
Would you hang out with her/him and HER/HIS friends?: yes.. but I would like it if he had his own set of friends that are more his friends than my friends, so that he'd always have someone else to go to.
Would she kiss you goodnight at the door?: she? if she's hot ;)
Will he walk you to the door at the end?: yes
Holding hands?: sometimes. But too often = clingy = bothers me.
Soccer: I likey.
Volleyball: Mehhh.. not as much.
Tennis: Not really.
Baseball: NO
Basketball: I likey
Football: Not really
Water polo: If he looks like Michael Phelps.. AHHHH! YUM. but he's a swimmer. Hee.
Surf: If he'll teach me, sure. Hot surfer guys.. yum.
Skateboard: sure
Ski/snowboard: sure
Play guitar: yes
Play piano: hmm.. maybe.
Neat or messy?: mostly neat. I can be messy. But I can also be obsessive compulsive.
Writes his own music: If it's good...--agreed. (yep)
Use the word dude: duuuuude... totally. But not like spaldo. I don't know if I could deal with a guy who spoke like my physics teacher.
Use the word tight: nope
Would he watch the sun rise with you: in bed?
What kind of car does he drive: a nice one. But not one he spends more money on than on me. :P
How old is he: at least older than me.. but not more than say, 4 years older. That is a leeeeetle weird. Especially because he'd be in a whole 'nother world from mine.
What would his name be: something not like Harold or Ashley or John or Steve.

I may have found sleepy's online twin!
Her name's Vicky and she also goes "squee" when she sees a cute guy. (scroll down past the Phelps icons) Actually, it seems that a good number of people go "squee" when they get excited...but I still thought it was funny anyway.

Ok, survey!
While I wait for the bathroom to become vacant. Credit sugarfiend, who got it from someone else, who in all probability got it from someone else as well...
Hehe, I just realize that the other reason I'm posting this is for people to hook me up if they find a match. :-P
Hair color: No preference. Just clean.
Eye color: No preference. Dreamy is nice, though. Inquisitive, ehh. Intelligent! They must be intelligent!
Height: Preferably between 5'8" and 6'.
Six pack: Some toning would be nice, but not necessary
Long or short hair: If he can put it up in a ponytail, he's out.
Glasses: It's sad. I find guys with glasses much more attractive. ;__; Like my predecessor, this probably does not bode well for future generations.
Piercings: Open-minded about this. I've seen boys who look really hot with lip and eyebrow piercings. At the same time, if you've got piercings, you probably can't work out with me?
Tattoo: Depends. Does it have meaning? Was there a specific reason for getting the tattoo, or did the dolt just think it was cool? Gang symbolism, or cultural/personal? (I think Maori face tattoos are really cool looking.) Is it discreet?
Eyebrows: Please have more eyebrows than me. I mean, it's not that hard...
Big butt or little: Muscular. :D
Buff or skinny: Depends on the person, and the frame.
Straight teeth, gap, or braces: No gap. Braces lead to straight teeth, so they're more or less equivalent.
Funny or serious: Both. I can't handle a smart-ass when I'm serious and stressed out. But I adore boys who make me laugh.
Party or stay at home: Both. I'm a chameleon, I have my moods.
Should she/he cook or bake: Cook. Baking less important (and would make me fat)
Should she/he have a best friend: Yes, ME--lordy, you're possessive. Yes, a best friend, and his best friend should be my good friend as well. I think Scott's parents did it perfectly: they hooked up, and then they hooked their best friends up with each other.
Should she/he have a lotta girl friends: Don't care. But I better damn well be the top priority at least most of the time.
Outgoing or shy: Both. Probably more outgoing, because I have no patience with someone who's paralyzed with shyness. I want someone I can admire and look up to.
Sarcastic or sincere: Both, depending on what is required by the situation.
Would she/he be a smoker?: If he's on fire, I guess it's ok--haha!
Would she/he drink?: Yes. And be able to mix drinks, as well. But not alcoholic.
Would she/he swear?: Fine by me, but not every fifth word. I need someone more articulate.
Would she/he play with your hair?: The ones on my head, thanks.--Oh dear lord. Actually, I don't care much.
Where would you go to dinner?: His house, where he's just cooked and laid out the table on the patio with a tablecloth and candles. Hee. I'm a romantic.
Would s/he write you notes?: Little notes as everyday surprises that I'd find in my pockets or taped up where I run into them unexpectedly. I'm a big fan of letters and beautiful handwriting, though.
Would he bring you flowers?: Flower. I dig simplicity and minimalism. Or I'll take the plant. :)
Would she/he lay under the stars with you?: Mmm, yes. And we'd lay there, looking up, snuggling if we were cold, and not feel required to maintain a conversation by talking.
Would s/he call you muffin, pumpkin, or apple?: None. Even "pookie" makes me cringe.
Would he call you hunny, sweetie, or baby?: Along with the above...I just can't imagine being referred to as any of those. Jeez.
Would she/he hang out with you and YOUR friends?: DEFINITELY.
Would you hang out with her/him and HER/HIS friends?: DEFINITELY. and there shouldn't be a delineation between my friends and his friends, either.
Would she kiss you goodnight at the door?: She?! that's news to me.--haha. Well, if we're in love, why not?
Will he walk you to the door at the end?: Assuming this is the end of a date, and not the beginning of a slasher flick, yes! so I can kiss him goodnight at the door!
Holding hands?: Sometimes. Sometimes I just need to know someone's there. Most of the time, I'm probably going to run off at a moment's notice.
Soccer: Sure, why not.
Volleyball: Sure, why not. (As long as it's not an excuse to get me into skimpy swimsuit.)
Tennis: Ehh, nah. One arm bigger than the other, ugh.
Baseball: If he can teach me how to hit the damn ball, maybe.
Basketball: Bad for violinist's fingers....but if that's his sport, go ahead.
Football: Hm. Just TRY and take me down.
Water polo: Water Polo guys are hot, but kind of...dense looking?
WHERE IS THE MARTIAL ARTS CATEGORY?
Surf: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (yea, you should all know my weakness)
Skateboard: Teach me!
Ski/snowboard: Teach me some more!
Play guitar: Is he any good? Does he sing with it? Does he compose?
Play piano: Pianists and their lovely, lovely hands...
Neat or messy?: Messy is fine, as long as it's not filthy. Mess needs to clutter, not filth.
Writes his own music: If it's good...--agreed.
Use the word dude: that'd be sweeeeeet.
Use the word tight: I used to be ok with it...but I don't like it much anymore.
Would he watch the sun rise with you: Er. Is it possible for me to get up early? But yes. Sunrises are much better than sunsets, because there are fewer cheesy couples out.
What kind of car does he drive: A clean one, and an environmentally friendly one.
How old is he: Not more than four years younger or...twenty-five years older. I'm much more forgiving on the mature end of the spectrum. Yes, I like older men. They tend to know what they're doing, because I generally don't.
What would his name be: Ernest! Heeheeheeheehee. Something I can pronounce, please? (although then again, I've been managing with Svietoslev at TKD, so that can't be too much of a requirement.)
The Love Boat
Dude! Harry Kim is Taiwanese!
sugarfiend: Do you still have that website with the application that I sent you over the summer? Roger (tall red belt Roger) wants to go next summer.

The Bagel
by David Ignatow
I stopped to pick up the bagel
rolling away in the wind,
annoyed with myself
for having dropped it
as if it were a portent.
Faster and faster it rolled,
with me running after it
bent low, gritting my teeth,
and I found myself doubled over
and rolling down the street
head over heels, one complete somersault
after another like a bagel
and strangely happy with myself.

Saw Hero just now
On Shana's computer. With no subtitles. Bah. This is one of the times I'm really glad that I read the spoiler summary before watching the movie. *g* But yes, very very pretty. My various comments throughout the movie cracked up both Shana and Lauren. Go me.
- Tony Leung in general: Me: The bottom half of his face looks Mexican...(Shana agrees with this)
- Jet Li walks up to the enormous closed gate. Me: "Open sesame!"
- Emperor and Tony Leung fight in the imperial hall and the Emperor loses green-robed Tony in the curtains: Me: "Oh shit! I shouldn't have put in those green curtains!"
Among other things. Ah, how I love watching movies in other people's rooms...
I remember when my family watching CTHD in the theaters. I literally cracked up when Zhang Ziyi was wandering in the desert chasing after Chen Chang. My sister leaned over and hissed, "What's so funny?" and honestly, I was laughing over the fact that she was going through all that trouble to get a comb back.

Squee!
I received my copy of Flight today! And I just read the entire thing! Yay! Pretty pictures! Not sure what my favorite one is, but I think the cutest one is "Deep Blue." PENGUINS!! Couldn't stop smiling during that one. Also enjoyed "The Bowl" muchly, though I'm not sure how that has anything to do with flying...
But could you explain "Dummy Brother" to me? Don't understand it...

Owwmyhead
Tonight's Stage Management assignment is remarkably mind-numbing. It feels like something out of middle school.
Edit: Ow. That took me almost four hours to complete. Only four hours, but my head hurts worse than after an all-nighter. Ow.
Ih!
said a small rock's voice in my head when I saw this Bug. Although I think it's mostly the name that's amusing me, and the title of the log.
More doggy. Different one, though. Think that's the prettiest Jack Russell I've seen in a while.
And a frog.
Okok, one more happy doggy. And a pretty flower.
(Man, I want this guy's digital camera)
Procrastinating again.
I remember all throughout elementary and middle school, where I would procrastinate on doing actual work for as long as possible by reading anything I could get my hands on. Sometimes this resulted in quite interesting (and loud and tearful) arguments with my mother on what constituted "homework". This changed around 8th grade, when I was suddenly alerted to the fact that *gasp* people hung out online late at night, when everyone was scrambling to complete their problem sets/essays/presentations for the next day. And then the reading mostly stopped. (And the arguments changed...but that's a discussion for another time. Actually, Grey could probably continue on that topic. Maybe we'll make this an essay series.)
But now I'm picking it up again...I'm reading anything I can get my hands on, although I've gotten slightly better about keeping it within the limits of what I'm studying, so I'm getting *some* academic benefit from it, but it's still the same kind of thing--reading something because you don't want to have to sit down and write a paper or do the actual homework. Ugh.
I hate how theater classes start off so slowly, and with ridiculous amounts of busy work. It's actually probably not busy work to anyone else in there, including the majors, but it's like show-and-tell, only at the college level, and only just barely. But even in my costume design--which I should think would attract a certain kind of people, right?--people are having a hard time grasping the idea of designing with a certain concept in mind.
Anyway, what I'd wanted to say in this long and rambling and ultimately pointless post was that instead of working on homework that's due tomorrow, I'm taking the time to catch up on reading I was supposed to do last week, even though I know full well that if I never read it I am still fully capable of achieving an A. What bothers me is that in a week's not reading for this class because I didn't have the book, a full 90 pages of it has built up, like silt on a sandbank.
Dammit.
P.S. Mouse, did you know that Barnes & Noble is now publishing an English translation of both Akira and Trigun? It seems wrong somehow to be looking at manga, especially the cover, with the spine in your left hand. [Will linky everything later, when I'm really procrastinating.]

Not a Happy Camper
Blek. I hate having to take back my word; when I say "I'll be there" I mean I'll do everything in my power to be there. It's one of my traits I prize the most, and it's the what pisses me off when I find it lacking in other people. That said, I do run into schedule conflicts every once in a while, and tonight's is bugging me. Some things must take precedent over others, but all the same--I don't like taking back my word.
And now I can't sleep (again), so I'm up getting some work done.
9.10.2004
I need a hug
...from a cute boy.
Actually, I'm not sure that would help at all, but it's worth a shot. I thought I'd be happy visiting Cindy. I was relaxed enough to fall asleep there for a couple hours, but now I'm feeling the stress again.
I think I shall procrastinate more, and play the violin.
Edit: I hate to say this, but I just realized what would probably make me happy right now is a stiff, sweet cocktail. Cold.
...Stop thinking so hard, you sickos.
9.08.2004
Argh.
So yesterday my brain was spitting out about a page's worth of dialogue, last night around 1 or 2 AM I had barely enough energy to crawl into bed, and this morning? Bah. This morning I awoke -bam!- right at 6:55 AM. Something got me awake just long enough to start thinking about the class I have to TA today, and then I couldn't go back to sleep. I finally dragged myself out of bed ten minutes later, like a sack of wet potatoes.
Even if I were still on AIM, I think I'd be going to slee at something like 10 tonight. Grr.
Tired as fuck. Looking at 6 hours of sleep. Not happy.
Need a weekend already...and it's only Tuesday...*cry*
On the upside, have clean laundry.

Writer's curse/blessing
all the things i had planned to do this morning? out the window. i got up half an hour late and started writing...and i haven't been done since. it's been an hour already. ;____;
insomnia
...induced by lack of food.
Here's the thing about my diet: because I'm trying to lose a few pounds so as to get back down to my nice, comfy, no scary people weight division (Adora gain weight gain weight, ack!) I've been eating a lot less these last few days to make up for all the good stuff I ate in the last two or three weeks of summer. Well, it all kicked in today...I went to bed at 12:30, couldn't get to sleep, couldn't stop thinking of food, and finally went downstairs and made myself a sandwich. A big, honking, three-inch stack of sandwich, with spinach and provolone and a good centimeter's thickness of ham, all on wheat bread. And I ate every bit of it.
Now I'm sitting here waiting for the food coma (and some of the guilt) to kick in. Le sigh. Fruit smoothie for lunch tomorrow, methinks.

More wacky scores
Both liz and xj agree that this fits me really really well. I weep.
Xpressive: 3/10
Practical: 3/10
Physical: 5/10
Giver: 10/10
You are a RSYG--Reserved Sentimental Physical Giver. This makes you a Nice Guy/Nice Girl.
Oh, poor RSYG. You're the one all your friends of your target sex *should* be dating when you have to watch them go out with jerks. You're the sweet one that the lead in a romantic comedy ends up with after s/he learns a valuable lesson. You're the best friend, the chaperone and the shoulder to cry on when you should be the lover. Well, no one ever said people were smart.
You dislike conflict -- you prefer to express yourself through action, not discussion -- but you know it is necessary. This means you are more likely to tackle an issue before it grows, but you're also more likely to stop fighting before the issue is resolved to your satisfaction. This isn't necessarily a bad thing -- it's kind of a nice compromise between fighting about everything and fighting about nothing -- but you have to remember to look out for your own interests sometimes.
You have a strong sexual appetite, but it seems so out of place with the rest of your persona that people find it hard to believe. Often they try to shield you from sexual content -- it's ridiculous, but you can use it to your advantage: everybody wants someone clean in the kitchen and dirty in the bedroom. That's you.
You don't want to cheat, but you might. Especially since it's only when you're in a relationship that you start getting the attention from your target sex that you should have been getting all along. Your experiences could make you misanthropic if you weren't so tenderhearted.
You'll end up with someone who deserves you in the end.
Of the 29826 people who have taken this quiz, 4.2 % are this type.
